Before booking an appointment please check who is best placed to deal with your condition:

To book an appointment please phone 01492 533800. There will be a member of staff available from 8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday to answer your call.

We operate a triage service where patients contact the practice from 8.30am, you will be asked to mention the nature of the problem to the receptionist. You will be either added to the triage list or signposted to the most appropriate service regarding your problem.

You will then receive a call back or an appointment on the day who will conduct your consultation. If the issue can be dealt with over the phone, it will be, if you need to be seen by a clinician this will be arranged by our administration team.

Using the triage service you may be:

  • Asked to attend the practice
  • Given telephone advice
  • Sign-posted to other appropriate service
  • Investigations may be arranged
  • Given appointments with other staff in the practice

Only urgent requests are accepted after 4 pm and all routine calls after this time are asked to call back the following day. The patient will receive a call back on the same day unless the workload is exceptional and does not allow for.

We do our best to keep waiting times to a minimum but urgent problems do arise unexpectedly and may delay some appointments. In these exceptional circumstances our receptionists will endeavour to keep you informed and give you the option to cancel and re-book your appointment.

If you are unable to keep an appointment, please advise the practice as soon as possible.

Interpretation Services

If you need an interpreter for your appointment, if possible please make the practice aware ahead of your appointment so we can arrange this for you.

Accidents and Emergencies

In the event of a serious accident or medical emergency, call 999 without delay.

Remember, however, that the Ambulance Service is an overstretched resource, particularly out of hours, and that unnecessary non-urgent calls place an extra burden on Ambulance crews.
